Q: What do I need to do in order to book an event or wedding?​

A: You will need to sign a contract and provide a 50% retainer to reserve your date. Please find our contact info on the home page to make arrangements!

Q: Am I able to bring in my own food for an event?

A: Events in our banquet room are subject to catering requirements. Smaller events held in the Gathering Room/Chapel are exempt from those requirements, although you may have your event catered in that room if you choose.

Q: May I schedule a tour?

A: Please refer to the home page for contact information. We will be happy to schedule a time that works with your schedule.

Q: Can I provide my own alcohol for an event?

A: No. All alcohol must be purchased from The Pillars. We have liquor licenses through the State of IL and the City of Taylorville and follow all requirements. In addition, we carry a liquor liability policy, so you are not required to carry your own liability policy.​

Q: What if I need to cancel my event?

A: All payments made are non-refundable. When you schedule an event, it is no longer available to anyone else who may want to choose that date.

Q: May I decorate for my event, or do you provide decor services?

A: Either way; you choose! If you choose to decorate yourself, we allow ample time before your event. We also have an extensive design studio on the premises and are always thrilled to provide that service as an option when that best suits your needs. We have invested in a large inventory from which to choose. We do not allow outside professional decorators. Another option is to rent items from our studio and do the decor yourself if you elect not to utilize the full decor package.

Q: Do you allow more than one event in the building at the same time?

A: No. We dedicate our services to one function at a time.

Q: Is there lodging nearby for our guests that may be traveling?

A: We have an Air BNB just steps from The Pillars, offering 4 bedrooms. Please see lodging. We will also help to refer you to other options available.

​

Q: Do you have audio and/or video equipment available?

A: We have a PA system available, but no video equipment. Typically, a DJ ​

can assist with additional needs.

Q: Are we able to use the Bride and Groom's Lounges for an off-site wedding?

A: Yes. There is an a-la-carte charge for those having a reception with us, but a wedding at another location.
